Since the beginning of time the influences of East and West , North and South have mingled and mixed in Slovenia. This is not only clearly apparent in Slovenian hospitality but also in Slovenian cuisine which differs from one area of the countryside to the next. Excellent local wines which have been produced in this region for over 2000 years have always been served along with the meals.

More than 1200 national dishes are proof of a rich tradition of pleasurable nutrition in Slovenia.
Along the coast you’re pleasantly surprised with many different fish dishes while local Slovenian dishes are served in restaurants or on farms.
The Queen of all Slovenian dishes – the particularly generously filled “prekmurska gibanica “– also makes your Feel Good holiday into an unforgettable culinary experience.
However you will also be bewitched by the Slovenian wines and not only by the food specialities. The diversity of the countryside and the most variable of climatic conditions ensure a rich variety of wines. Amongst the white wines “Laszki”and “Renski rizling”, Sauvignon, Beli pinot and Sivi pinot, ·ipon and Rumeni muskat in the East and Rebula and Malvazija in the coastal region are well worth mention. Amongst the red wines Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Refosk and Barbera all belong to the top quality wines. There is also a large selection of different rosé wines. A tip: To best get to know the wine country get along one of Slovenia’s 20 (!) wine routes.
